Using External Info FilesAn alternative to using ID3 information is to use an "info" file. Using an info file is similar to using coverart.jpg" files within directories. If a file named "dir.info" exists within a folder or sub-folder, Wimpy will use the information contained within the dir.info" file in the playlist. Likewise If a matching "info" file exists for a media file, Wimpy will use the info contained in the "file.info" file rather than attempting to read the ID3 info. Here is an example of a matching "info" file for a sub-folder: An sub-folder is located here: Here is an example of a matching "info" file for a media file: An FLV file is located here: The "info" file should contain simple XML data in the following format: <artist>My Artist's Name</artist> Click here to download an example "info" file.
